Padestrian Crossing lights of Burghley Road

Dear Residents

The pedestrian lights at Burghley Road are currently not working. The Highways team have investigated the cause of the failure.

They state that the electrical supply to the pedestrian signals has failed due to a cable fault. The electrical supply to the pedestrian signals is fed from a private cable which also feeds the street lighting in this vicinity. Unfortunately, there is a fault on the length of cable fed from the feeder pillar at Pilgrims Lane junction with A1306 (some 400metres.)

The Street lighting contractor has been instructed to investigate and repair the fault as this is also affecting street lighting in the area.

I am advised that this will take time to trace and repair due to the length of cable affected, so unfortunately, the signals will not be in operation until next week.

The Environment team will ensure traffic signals out of order boards are placed on site. Apologies for the inconveniences.

Regards
