Come and start the Christmas Season with festive songs and carols with the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus joining forces with musicians and vocal groups from across Thurrock for a special Christmas concert on Saturday 8 December at the High House Production Park. Before the concert, join in with carols around the High House Christmas Tree from 6pm. The lighting of the Christmas tree will take place at 6.30pm. The concert features the Thurrock Community Chorus singing Hay, Ay from 'When Icicles Hang' and Star Carol, both by John Rutter and the Chorus of Scottish Refugees from Macbeth by Verdi. The audience can join in with The 12 Days of Christmas, White Christmas, Silent Night and In the Bleak Midwinter amongst others. Joining the Thurrock Community Chorus for the concert will be the Thurrock Youth Orchestra, Golden Voices, Spectrum Brass and other singers and musicians from the area. The Christmas Concert takes place in the Backstage Centre where the Thurrock Community Chorus recently sang with the Royal Opera Chorus to a capacity audience.

The Royal Opera House Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop public tours, offering a fascinating glimpse into the world of backstage skills, run at 1.30pm and 3pm. Tours can be booked through the Royal Opera House Box Office. For more information, please go to www.roh.org.uk/visit/tours.
