Following the first strike action last Saturday, we received information from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service that contingency plans worked well.
Further strike action is planned for:
Wednesday 18 July starting at 9am, ceasing on Thursday 19 July at 9am.
The same arrangements as before will apply with more than 100 ECFRS firefighters having signed resilience contracts guaranteeing their availability to provide cover during any periods of staff shortage and many of the Service's retained stations have indicated that they will continue to provide life saving cover during periods of strike action.
Thurrock's Emergency Planning team continue to work with partners to ensure their contingency plans are in place.
In the event of a fire, residents should call 999 in the usual way.
I will continue to provide weekly updates for you and suggest that you look at the news section of the fire service website
www.essex-fire.gov.uk for the latest updates.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
