National Grid Road Closure in Chafford
Dear Resident
Please see below the details of the letter I received from National Grid warning about the proposed road closure:
To ensure our work can be carried out safely and efficiently we will be required to close the A1306 in the vicinity of Essex Arena from 9 to 14 June, and again from 31 July (tbc) for two weeks.
To help walkers we have kept the pedestrian footpaths open. However, at times when
we are working overhead we may be required to close the footpaths for short periods of time (up to one hour). During this time pedestrians will be asked to wait until the area is safe. Information will be posted along the route, please see attached.
These works are being carried out by the Electricity Alliance, a partnership between National Grid and Balfour Beatty. Normal working hours will be between 7.30am and 6.30pm, although occasional out-of-hours work may be necessary. Due to the essential nature of these works, please note that we will be working alternate weekends throughout the project that includes 5-6 June, 19-20 June, 3-4 July, 17-18 July. These works should be complete by winter 2009.
We are sorry for any inconvenience these essential works may cause residents and businesses in the area. Please be assured that we will make every effort to complete the project as quickly and considerately as possible.
As work continues we will advise you of any updates. If you have any queries or require any further information, our community relations team are on hand and can by contacted by calling 0800 021 7878.
Yours sincerely
Peter Bullen
Project Engineer
