Dear Residents

Harris Academy Mayflower approved
Thursday 8th January is finally the day that the campaigners for a new school to cater for Chafford residents was approved.  Well the school had technically started off since Sept 2014, but the premises was always an issue.  Amidst the usual drama, incomplete information and other nuances the plans finally got approved.  This means that there will be a 5-form school built at the old container site. There were loads of comments about transportation and parking, but the Council has committed to taking responsibility if the road usage is more that 20% of the population of the new school.

Proposed New Bridge
As Conservative Spokesperson for Regeneration I attended Parliament for the debate on the proposed new bridge which may come through Thurrock.
Unsurprisingly, both Kent and Essex proposed that Option C (going through Thurrock) should be agreed, while Thurrock proposed that the previous Option D (which doesn't go through Thurrock) should be reconsidered.  Both we and Labour agree on this position (who said politicians can't work together?)
