Winter Gritting Update

Update from Council Gritting Team

The latest Met office forecast predicts that we can expect to see some snow during the next few days. A band of light snow lies across more Eastern areas today but this is not expected to give any significant accumulations. This will be kept under review.

Gritting crews were applying grit to the primary routes from 8pm last night [Sunday] and a second team are currently carrying out more gritting runs this morning.

Due to this possible risk of snow albeit only minor accumulations, the gritting crews remain on standby to react in the event of snowfall. A second team will also be on standby to cover, should there be a number of runs required throughout the day and night.
