Snow Clearance and Gritting

Dear Residents

Thurrock Council is running the Community Gritting Scheme again this year enabling local communities including Schools and Nurseries to undertake snow clearance and gritting in their areas to supplement the work already undertaken directly by the Council.

Thurrock Council has undertaken a review of its Winter Gritting Plan and has identified that community involvement should be encouraged to provide localised supplementary snow clearance and gritting for the public highway network. Therefore, the Council is expanding the scheme engaging the Local Communities, Schools and Nurseries in the Borough.

The Council is once again inviting bids for consideration for inclusion in salt bin scheme for local groups.

Please find attached an application pack for the Salt Bin Scheme the pack includes covering letter, Winter Maintenance Policy (with guide lines) and application form. Completed applications should be returned to Daren Spring, in Thurrock Council
