COLD CALL RE HEATING EFFICIENCY

Dear Cllrs

A resident phoned me this morning regarding a cold call he received from a heating efficiency company – this company told him that if he did not have an Efficiency Certificate from the Council they would have to pay an increased Council Tax.

I have spoken to Martin Hone who had said this is completely untrue and if we find out who is making this allegation we will take them to Trading Standards.  The resident I spoke to said they were to call him back, if they do he will get the details for me.

I just wanted to make you all aware in case any of your residents receive such a call.
