Leisure plans unveiled at Lakeside 20 March 2012
Capital Shopping Centres (CSC) has unveiled plans for a major new leisure space at Lakeside, its market leading centre in Thurrock.
The new leisure proposals add to plans unveiled in recent months for a £180m expansion of the centre's retail offer that would bring 30-40 new stores and a substantial investment in local community infrastructure.
The next phase of investment at Lakeside could see an exciting new leisure destination created comprising new cafes, restaurants and leisure uses around the existing Vue cinema as well as family entertainment venues, bars and health and fitness facilities, focused around a new public square.
The exhibition of the plans for the next phase of development took place at Lakeside last weekend.
Jonathan Ainsley, Asset Management Director for CSC, said: "Having already announced exciting new retail plans for Lakeside we are thrilled to also be announcing the proposed plans for the leisure side of the development which will help to maintain Lakeside as a top retail and leisure destination and look forward to hearing the public's views on our new plans."
