CHILDREN'S centres in Thurrock have been saved from potential closure.
Thurrock Council held a consultation on the future of the centres in the borough, with more than 500 people and organisations taking part.
The children’s centres at Tilbury, Thameside, Aveley, Ockendon and Stanford-le-Hope will continue to be run by Thurrock Council, while centres at Chadwell St Mary, West Thurrock, Chafford Hundred and East Tilbury will be run by a company on the council’s behalf.
