Triumph Close works to ensure junction safety

After a long campaing on behalf of residents of Triumph Close, I am pleased to tell residents the junction of the close is about to be changed to double yellow lines - which will remove any parking at the junction. (Thanks to resident Kevin for your persistence).

The general effect of the Order would be to revoke part of the waiting restrictions “No Waiting Mon-Fri 1pm-2pm” at the locations specified below and replace with new waiting restrictions “No Waiting At Any Time”: -

a) Triumph Close, west side, from a point 11 metres south of its junction with Rainbow Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 28 metres

b) Triumph Close, east side, from a point 11 metres south of its junction with Rainbow Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 26 metres

If you have any comments about this, please email Cllr Tunde Ojetola by 14 June 2011.

As a resident of Triumph Close I have no prior knowledge of a "campaign" nor was canvassed by Kevin? So thank you Kevin, as you no doubt rarely have visitors perhaps mine can park in front of your property - no double yellows there. In reality the vast majority of residence are totally against such restrictions.

It seems only one man and his dogs want these Double yellow lines put in, no one else in the close has ever heard of this campaign and do not want these lines put in. We would all be happy if all the lines and parking restrictions were taken away for good or if not given visitors parking permits or the restriction times changed from 1-2pm to 9-10am. As residences of the close could have friends and family around in the day without worrying about these stupid restrictions.

What a travesty, I went to rent a house here a week ago, it was beautiful but had not enough parking. The estate conforms to latest government thinking in terms of not enough parking at each house. So given yello lines are now going to be placed around here, this is simply going to force residents into other streets to partk their cars. Where does it end. We cant rely on public transport, Chafford has the worst public transport in the borough, both in terms of trains and buses.
