Residents that live around Merlin Close will be pleased to know that the Kebab van that operates behind Tescos will cease trading shortly.
The operator applied for both a premises license and an street trading license.
At the last Forum meeting residents objected to the application and this lead to a hearing in Council last Thursday (17th Feb - see link) however just prior to the hearing, the trader withdrew their application on the grounds that they were refused a trading license.
This is the second attempt from fast food operators to locate at Merlin Close. A few months previously, a bar and bus operated there on Fridays, but it led to a lot of anti social behaviour, hence the closure of operations.
Residents need to keep a look out in case any other operator tries to settle there in future.
