Proposed Restaurant next to the Station

Dear Resident

Please be aware of the plans currently advertised for a 2nd floor restaurant in a shop next to the station. (Click topic above for more details).

Cllr Veryard and I sampled views about this over the weekend (16th Jan 2010) and dropped letters in surrounding premises.

The residents we spoke to commented about:
(a) the number of restaurants in the area at the moment;
(b) the location - on the second floor
(c) parking issues - close proximity to the station
(d) other traffic issues - again as the area is quite busy.

One of the main questions being asked is 'what type of restaurant is it?', 'how many people will it cater for?', 'what are the opening and closing hours?' etc.

While we want to support businesses being developed in the community, we need to balance this with the most suitable types of business, with all the other amenities in the area.
