NHS South West Essex is responsible for the NHS Budget in South West Essex, including Thurrock. It is inviting comments on the new NHS Constitution on patients’ rights. The consultation runs until 5 February 2010
Highlights in the Consultation document include:
• the right to treatment within a maximum of 18 weeks from a GP referral; and
• the right to be seen by a cancer specialist within two weeks from a GP referral. Where this is not possible the NHS would have to take reasonable steps to offer alternative providers.
• a new right for NHS Health Checks for those aged 40 to 74 to assess their risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease
I am not aware of any open session in Thurrock, but if there are any I’ll publish the dates here.
The purpose of this personal blogsite is to pass Ward or Thurrock related information across, and to allow residents comment on plans or proposals. Residents suggestions for developments in the community are certainly very welcome.
