Residents will be pleased to know that this issue will be addressed at the Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday 16th Sept (See attached link for full report).
After the issues of the weight limit on Devonshire Road were raised, the Council commissioned consultants to undertake the South Stifford Traffic Study (which was presented to the Community Forum back this Summer). The study was completed in August 2009
It focussed on two main issues:
· Options to mitigate existing HGV traffic associated with industrial and
employment land uses in the study area.
· Mitigation of future transport demands arising from a change of land uses in the
area from industrial/employment to residential.
It is recommended that Cabinet:
1. Restricts traffic over 7.5 tonnes from Devonshire Road; &
2. Create an alternative route away from London Road for traffic
passing through South Stifford.
