Fake cops took car

(From Thurrock Gazette)
TWO car jackers posing as police officers stole a Ford Fiesta from a young driver.
A 17-year-old boy was driving along Merlin Close, Chafford Hundred, when he was flagged down by the men in a silver Ford Focus, with two false number plates.
The men, who claimed to be police officers, said they were going to seize the vehicle and ordered the young driver, also from Chafford Hundred, and his two passengers out of the car.
The Fiesta, a mobile phone, a sat nav system and a wallet, together worth £6,750, were then taken.
One of the thieves was white, aged between 35 and 40, 6ft 2in, stocky, with short blonde spiky hair, who spoke with an Essex accent.
He was wearing a pink Lacoste t-shirt, beige combat trousers and white Lacoste trainers.
The other suspect was white, about 19-years-old, with short cropped hair, and was wearing a black hooded jumper, grey jogging bottoms and trainers.
Bill Stock, Essex police spokesman, said: "We are anxious to hear from anyone who has information about these two people posing as police officers.
"Anybody with information on the whereabouts of the Ford Fiesta is asked to contact Grays CID on 0300 333 4444."
