You might be interested to know that the Planning Committee have recommended at their meeting today that the Development Corporation rejects the Planning application.
Cllr Steve Veryard and I spoke in objection to the application, emphasising the current over development, issue with parking and road congestion issues, lack of adequate school places to accommodate the number of children that will emerge from the proposed dwellings, etc.
Councillors on the committee generally agreed that the application lacked merit and should be objected. Eleven residents sent it their objections via email. On the other hand, although the Developers were present they refused to make any comments.
By the time it came to a vote, it was unanimously agreed that the application be rejected.
The comments of the Planning Committee will now be put before the Thames Gateway's own Planning Committee for a final decision.
