Sunday November 11 was this year's remembrance day.
Last year where Chafford residents had a service led by the Vicar in Warren Primary School and then a parade from the School to remembrance ground off Kershaw Close.
Unfortunately, this year the Vicar was away and there was no formal ceremony. I therefore laid the wreath on behalf of residents as part of the main programme at the remembrance ground at Grays War Memorial Centre.
The Vicar and I have agreed that we will start planning for next year much sooner so that residents will have the opportunity to pay their respects and remembrance locally.
The purpose of this personal blogsite is to pass Ward or Thurrock related information across, and to allow residents comment on plans or proposals. Residents suggestions for developments in the community are certainly very welcome.
