Devonshire Road

Many people have raised questions about the status of the weight limit on the Road, and have also expressed concerns after unhelpful comments in the press about the legality of the weight limit.

Residents may also what to know that the Road will be discussed at the next Community Forum on 13 November (taking place at Tudor Court School).

What we are doing in the meanwhile is reviewing the overall purpose of the road, i.e.
  1. When Chafford Hundred was built, why did Chafford Hundred Ltd pay for the the road?
  2. Is that purpose still relevant?
  3. What is the overall master plan for the area in the near future
  4. What are the views of our strategic partners: Thames Gateway Development Corp.; Police; etc.?
  5. What are the plans for the surrounding roads?
  6. Why was a weight limit put on the road to start with?

While I can't guarrantee an answer to most of these questions, I will plan to comment on them at the meeting.

If you have any evidence or want to discuss anything about the issue, please contact me via email.
