Growth Clear For All To See at Tilbury

 

On a recent visit to the London Paper Terminal at Tilbury docks, Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle-Price was delighted to see the new investment that has taken place at the facility.  The witnessed the unloading of the ship and its subsequent refilling with JCB machinery for export.

 

Jackie said, “It is immensely impressive to see the speed and precision with which the ships are unloaded at Tilbury.  The paper bales are dangerously heavy and easy to damage and I am awe of how quickly they get from the ship to the printing presses to make our newspapers.  Next time you buy your newspaper, think on, the chances are that the paper has come through Tilbury.”

 

On leaving Tilbury the ship was destined for Russia together with an impressive number of JCB trucks and tractors from New Holland Tractors in Basildon.  Jackie said, “That this ship is leaving Tilbury full of high value exports is indicative of the growth taking place in our economy, and nowhere is it stronger than here in South Essex.  There are those who continue to talk our economy down.  The truth is opportunity is well and truly on the up”
