ROBERT HALFON SUPPORTS CONSERVATIVE CAMPAIGN AGAINST RUBBISH IN WEST THURROCK

Conservative Deputy Chairman Robert Halfon took time to support the Conservative campaign to win the West Thurrock by election.  The Conservative candidate Tony Coughlin is finding his campaign to clean up rubbish in the borough is striking a chord with voters throughout the ward.

Conservative MP Jackie Doyle-Price said, "It is clear that across Thurrock people are tired of Thurrock being left to remain a rubbish dump.  They expect their council to clean up waste.

"Labour's neglect is just dragging the area down.  As you drive down the A13 it is pretty clear when you have left Thurrock.  The roads become cleaner.  Our pledge is clear.  We will make clearing up the rubbish and fly tipping our number one priority.  It isn't good enough for Thurrock Council to say if it isn't our land it isn't our problem.  Residents deserve better and the Council should use its enforcement powers to demand action.

"It was great to have Robert with us to give a boost to Tony's campaign.  He was horrified at the extent of the rubbish and observed that in Harlow there is nothing like it.  So if Labour run Harlow can keep the streets clean, why can't Labour run Thurrock?"
