Dear Fleming Road Residents

Some of you contacted me about speeding issues on the Road.  Please send me evidence of speeding you have so that I can inform the police.

I had raised this with the Council and their (no can do) reply is below:
--------------------------------
Thank you for your email dated 18th February 2015 regarding your request for traffic calming measures in Fleming Road.

I understand residents’ concerns with speeding vehicles, Unfortunately, the council cannot enforce speeding vehicles as enforcement of speed limits falls within the remit of the Police. I will forward your comments onto the Police on your behalf.
Accident remedial schemes are prioritised according to the number of personal injury accidents that have occurred. Within the last 5 years, 6 accidents have occurred, involving slight injury in Fleming Road. Unfortunately, there are other roads and junctions around the borough that have a much higher accident rate and these must be treated first in order that we can achieve the greatest accident reduction.

All roads are monitored annually and should the situation at Fleming Road change we will of course let you know.

I hope this information has been of some help, please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.

I still have the plans issued by Thurrock Council some years ago that have traffic calming measures. These were to be paid for by the Section 106 monies. Monies that Chafford never actually saw and that were wasted elsewhere in Thurrock. The same reason Chafford Hundred has no play parks paid for by the Council, or any buildings they maintain for the local residents. that includes Drake Road CC, as that is a not for profit company.
