Thurrock PCC Meeting 9th April 2015

Dear Colleague,

PCC Public Meeting and NEW 1-1 Surgeries…..

I am writing to let you know that the Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex will be holding the next District meeting in Thurrock on Thursday the 9th of April.

The event will be held at the Hassenbrook Academy, Hassenbrook Road, Stanford–Le–Hope, Essex, SS17 0NSand will begin at 6.30pm finishing at 8.30pm.

The local district meetings specifically address issues that the community are facing, and the Police and Crime Commissioner will bring the community together with the local district commander and the local community safety partnership manager to hear the concerns of the community, and discuss the work the police and CSP are doing to address these. The Police and Crime Commissioner will be there to help the local community get the answers they need about crime and safety in their local area. The Police and Crime Commissioner aims to visit each district in the county each year to hold an event like this and bring local policing teams together with the community

We attach a poster with the details of this event. We very much hope you will be able to attend, and would be grateful if you could encourage your family, friends, colleagues and communities you work with to likewise join in this important debate.

Please note that from 13th November 2014, the PCC has been trialling a one-to-one surgery model, in addition to his public meeting schedule. Further details can be found in our online article below, and by visiting the ‘Surgeries’ tab under Events and Meetings on our website.

http://www.essex.pcc.police.uk/2014/10/new-pcc-surgeries-have-a-one-to-one-meeting-with-nick-alston/

PCC surgeries will directly precede the PCC’s district public meetings, and will be a chance for members of the community – particularly those who may not be comfortable speaking up in a public meeting, to raise issues, ideas and concerns with the PCC directly and in a more private setting.

This will not replace the existing process for making complaints to the PCC or to Essex Police, and members of the public may be referred to these processes as part of their consultation.

To book an appointment to attend a surgery near you please send an email to pcc@essex.pnn.police.uk

Please put the word SURGERY REQUEST in the subject line of your email. Alternatively you can ring the PCC office to book an appointment on 01245 291 600.

We hope to see you there!

Kind Regards
