Many residents have expressed concern about the proposed 130 odd dwellings being proposed, My colleagues and I too are appalled by the proposal and have expressed serious concerns to the developer in a series of emails and at the open day a few weeks ago.
All of your councillors will be expressing our concerns again when the planning committee consider the issue.
I must however state that it is the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation (TTDGC) who will have the final say on this, rather than Thurrock Council. Your views are welcome.

Depending on how Thurrock Council takes infrastructure issues, this development should be welcomed. It puts the emphasis of lack of facilities provided by the Council back on the agenda, it can be used as a catalyst for the Council to put back some of what it has taken.
Yes, we need bigger schools, yes we need more intergrated public transport and yes we need more open space. But at the moment when nothing is happening in Chafford Hundred, the Council and quiet happy in taking the cash, and not spending it on upkeep or added services.
It is derelict land, highly unlikely the council will provide anything on the land, because they don't own it, so in order to make good an eyesore and provide something for the Community in 106 money, then let them build it.
Shouldn't you be approaching Thames Gateway and the many other sources of fudning to get this peice of land and provide some facilities for the people of Chafford Hundred.
Where's our skate board park, football pitch, basketball park, running facilities, swimming pool, tennis courts.
Come on we have a few tiny play areas surrounded by houses, with obvious problems. This is one of the few areas left in Chafford Hundred, where something can be provided for our children, it's in your Ward, why don't you step up to the challenge, earn your money and get us some facilities.
Are you still working on Rainbow Road. If so can we have an update on how well that is going on your blog please. We're not mind readers.
But your colleagues have approved the as unbuilt 40 dwellings on here. Why didn't you object then, rather than waiting until even more are proposed before any are built. It's simply economies of scale and your jumping on a bandwagon here, as you and your colleagues have let us down badly and are choosing to forget your administration said yes to dwellings on here in the first place. Not a single Chafford Cllr represented Chafford in this meeting, so it's a case of you letting the horse bolt......stable door etc.
In case you need a reminder

Why weren't we (your residents) represented in this?
"Not a single Chafford Cllr represented Chafford in this meeting"
I checked your link and found out that Cllr Veryard attended the meeting and was the vice chair of planning. It is not straight forward to stop permission as applicants have a right to appeal to the Ministers office if planning policy is not followed.
I think if you go back to the meeting details on the link, Cllr Veryard left when this was being discussed at the meeting, citing a conflict of interests as he was a member of Bannatynes at the time.
Could he not have told his cronies this was the case and got one of the other 3 councillors for Chafford Hundred to put forward the argument Tunde and they are now purporting to support.
Just because something isn't straightforward or easy doesn't mean these elected and paid councillors shouldn't bother, especially if they believe it's the right thing for the residents and area they represent.
It wasn't easy or straightforward for the parents fighting for school places but they still persevered, even when Tunde "forgot" to turn up to meetings.
"Tunde forgot to turn up to meetings"
Please explain what meeting you are talking about!
You forgot to turn up to the Sunday morning meeting you requested with the parents of the school-less children, did you not? It was arranged for the community centre.
Thanks for getting back to me.
I never received an invitation to that meeting. I had consistently asked to be invited, but I had been told that it was to be kept as a group of only the parents involved. I remember meeting with Mr D-L on Saturday 1st and he promised to advise me when I could attend a meeting. Unfortunately I did not receive any invitation, nor was I aware of any meeting.
My surgery is this Saturday (15th) and I am happy to meet with residents then or at any other time - just contact me to arrange a time.
This blog is great, after years of silence and spin. Well done. On a similar subject to Bannatynes, ie land. Your colleague Neal Rocklif was elected after putting leaflets around that said the conservatives were looking at getting a place called Rainbow Road, into a leisure type community area. Do you have an update on where this is please as we really do need something for our children to do.
Can we have an update on Rainbow Road please?
How do we go forward when our local councillors don't attend meetings. We had not one Chafford Cllr at the planning meeting. Neither Cllr Rocklife of Cllr HAgue, were at the last council meeting so their side of the hundred wasn't represented. What are you lot playing at, we really need you to aks our views and then go out their and support them, not give excuses and apologies.
Can you please give an update on the situation with Rainbow Road. This was the main stay of NEals literature at the last election, saying it's something all 4 of you are working on. It's only right therefore that you update us on this.
Will it also be part of your literature in the upcoming local elections
