Lancaster Road Vibrations - a solution in sight

For years residents had complained that they felt vibrations when PGV or HGV drove down their road.  Tired of being pushed from pillar to post, they asked me to assist unravel the mystery behind the vibrations.

Being no expert, I went to the Council, who promptly told me that it wasn't a local authority issue.  I contacted Ensign Buses, who were sympathetic, but said their buses were not to blame.

I then asked residents to note the days and times of the vibrations and which vehicle they saw at the time.  Thank you to the many residents who did and sent their results.

Unfortunately it was still not enough to clarify who or what was causing the vibrations.

After a succession of meetings with residents, Council officers, Ensign Buses, the Council sent out an engineer to gauge the vibrations.  The result, it was the wrong type of vibration. It wasn't ground vibration, it was air vibration.  Of course, residents should have known the difference.

What about the pot holes?  They are not deep enough to warrant repairs.

However, persistency pays, so after numerous emails and meetings, the Council has finally agreed to resurface Lancaster Road.

Thank you to all those who emailed, phoned, attended meetings etc.

I will keep you posted on the date it will be implemented.
