Weekly blog

It amazing how time flies.  We are already in the last week of January.

Last week saw a load of complaints about parking and obstruction of the roads in Chafford.  I have asked for a complete review of all the roads in Chafford to obtain Highways officers judgement about accessibility.

Mon 26 Jan will feature the Chafford Community Forum meeting which is always lively, even though not many residents attend.  The Council's director for Planning will be in attendance to give an update about the Council's commitments to reduce the impact of the new school on Mayflower Road.

Wed 28 Jan is the first full council meeting of the year. It is a public meeting, open to residents, but for those interested but can't attend, both Your Thurrock and Thurrock Gazette run a live blog about the meeting.  The agenda is here: Thurrock Council meeting if you want to know what is happening at the meeting.  It will be a long night as we've not meet since October.  But will cover important issues such as the Council Tax base and amendments to licencing laws.  It will also be political as new councillor - Tim Aker - might see it as a platform.  I'll keep you posted.!
