The Council will collect extra household waste and recycling over the Christmas and New Year period, between the 27 December 2013 and 11 January 2014. Tie up your extra refuse in black bin bags and put the bags next to your green/grey bin on your scheduled collection day.
And on 7 January the Council will collect any unwanted electrical goods from Sainsburys Supermarket.
All side waste in black bin bags will be treated as non-recyclable. You can collect free blue plastic recycling bags at local libraries and area offices. We will also be visiting supermarkets on days before Christmas to give away recycling bags.
Don't forget you can put your real Christmas tree in your brown bin, you just need to make sure they are in pieces and the lid is shut down.
