Free School in Chafford & other update for residents

Dear Residents

Thank you for electing Cllr Charlie Key to join the team in Chafford.  Welcome on board Charlie!

A lot has been happening over the last few weeks and it has been challenging keeping you up to date.   If you have the time, please visit my blog for the more recent issues in the community www.cllrtunde.blogspot.com.

1. Free School in Chafford
There has been long term inadequate school places in Chafford even with the increased classrooms in both Chafford Primary and Tudor Court Schools.  We therefore think there is a need for a new school in Chafford.  The best way to go about this is to campaign for a FREE SCHOOL, which will be run independent of the Council.

Our MP, Jackie Doyle-Price is leading the campaign and is arranging a meeting with interested residents and the education department to discuss the details.  If you are interested in joining the parents who have already agreed to support this, please contact me or Jackie directly via jackie.doyleprice.mp@parliament.uk.

2. Fleming Road Accident
There have been accidents and near misses on Fleming Road,  we are therefore seeking residents' views about traffic calming measures on the road.  Please visit my blog to complete a quick survey or contact me further to discuss it.

3.  Plant a tree day
Please join Chafford Hundred Community Forum for the tree planting day on 23rd June 2012 at the new Youth Park in Rainbow Road.  It will be a lovely event and we expect to have loads of activities going on.  You can come with your picnic mat and basket if you want.  I will put all the details on my blog.

4. Mobile Phone Mast
We await the decision of the officer dealing with this application.   The Council has to decide on this by next week. Again, I will update you via my blog.

Regards

Tunde

I don't think that calming measures will help the situation in Fleming Road, I've found that it's the people who fly across the mini roundabout not bothering to stop and nearly colliding with us who are turning out of Mayflower Road! Also, people parking on the road turn it into an obstacle course.

You need to speak to Harris about the environment impact. But if you've got any concerns please let me know.

Are you not a Govenor of Harris and in a position to speak for them.

You certainly seem to be able to do things for harris including arrange over flow car parking.
