I last advised residents that the planning committee was going to consider the proposed restaurant above Tesco at their meeting on Thursday 18th February 2010.
As requested at the previous residents meeting, I asked for further information so that residents could understand:
~ the type and nature of the restaurant
~ the number of seats it would have
~ parking and traffic congestion issues
~ access issues as it is on the first floor
Unfortunately the planning committee did not have this information, as by law the owner does not have to provide this information to the planning committee for the application to be considered.
They did however lend an ear to my concerns about parking and traffic issues and the access to the restaurant. On that basis they plan to visit the site on Friday 5th March.
The application will then be considered again by the committee on 11th March 2010 at 7pm.

Tunde, are you for or against this restaurant. It would be a great additionto the community in myview. Which Tescos is it at, as they both have large car parks near by.

The main issue with the proposed restaurant is that there is not enough information to determine what type it will be. I have asked the agent for more information as I don't want to make a decision without all the facts.
There is a site visit at 9.30 today where the Planning Committee will see for themselves the issues pertaining to parking and access. Issues which need to be resolved by the owner prior to start up.
