Warren Primary School Crossing Update

Residents will remember that we submitted a petition for traffic calming measures in Gilbert/Grifon Roads to the Council.

I subsequently updated residents when the Cabinet approved the £20,000 required to fund the scheme.

We are now at the position of the final stage of the red tape, which requires approval from the Portfolio Holder and Ward councillors.  The proposals are

1. Change the existing waiting restrictions to restrict parking at school peak times (Monday - Friday, 8-9am and 3-4pm)

2.  Provide 2 dropped kerbs in the vicinity of xx Gilbert Road

3. The additional 'School Keep Clear' marking is implemented

4. To incorporate a 20mph Zone and to involve Warren Primary School in producing a design for the supplementary plate that accompanies the entry signs to the Zone.

I have however recommended that item 2 be changed to:

It is also recommended that a Zebra Crossing/pedestrian lights be installed in the vicinity of xx Gilbert Road.
