You may have been aware that your elected Conservative Cabinet agreed in January 2009 to sign up to the South Essex Rapid Transport because we are of the view that it will be beneficial to residents.
South Essex Rapid Transit is an innovative form of public transport which combines the high quality of trams with the flexibility and responsiveness of buses. SERT will be fast, reliable and easy to use. The vehicles will be clean, modern and comfortable. It is currently scheduled to begin operation in the latter part of 2012.

Please go in and talk to a member of the SERT team and tell them what you think. Your views will help refine the proposals prior to submitting a funding application to Government later this year.
