Attack on Campus Student

You may have heard of the horrendous attack carried out on a local boy on Thursday of last week.

Since that time there has been extensive activity from the police and officers from the council. Children, Education and Families staff have been working with school staff to offer support and to suggest actions to reduce the continued risk to children. These messages have been shared across all schools in the borough.

Council staff have also made ready counselling and support services should the family request them.

I have now received information that the police have now arrested a suspect on Thursday afternoon.

The police will continue with their high visibility presence within the community for the time being to quell local anxiety.
