Devonshire Road Update

I presented a report at the recently held Chafford Hundred Community Forum

The report featured a bit of the history of Devonshire Road, the status of the current 'weight restriction' and the issues that have now arisen after the legality of the weight limit was raised in the press.

There were various suggestions - especially from residents of Sachfield - about the way forward. Some of the options raised were: maintaining the current weight limit and ensure that it obtains its legal status, propose a lesser weight limit which is enforceable; put a width restriction on the residential end of the road; put cameras in place to enforce the limit etc.

I assured residents that all these options will be duly considered.

I also promised to give a further update in January 2008.
